Quality Competence
The Essential Role of 3PLs in the Chain to Success
A model of excellence
Hub&Logistics, based in Contone, is an example of external logistics that stands out for its dedication to providing excellence, going far beyond simple transport and storage. Thanks to the unusual presence of Quality Control, the product processing chain is enriched by the watchful, attentive and impartial eye of a department that imposes a stop! in the fast processing chain to ensure the quality of materials, precision in processing and compliance with high production standards.
Raising production standards
This essential step helps to raise the overall level of production and unlock, without any doubts, every single product on the way to the official debut in worldwide distribution.
Dynamic competence and operational proactivity
The competence of the staff in the Quality department is a certainty that is constantly evolving.
It may seem counterintuitive, given that certainty is static, as opposed to evolution, but in the limited and essential space of the quality control area, these concepts coexist.
Every day and depending on the problems that arise, experience and knowledge of new methods to solve them grow and certain data are noted: a specific product to remove stains from a halo, a type of leather that reacts to the steam created in the packaging, to be reported immediately before other goods can be ruined, or, the cares that sometimes turn out to be errors, such as a fabric package used to protect the product but which over time, from the factory packaging to the operator’s hands, dulls the leather and makes it necessary to ship it for repair to the supplier. Identify and annotate, forging competence.
Efficiency and exchange of information
From these multiple cases, experience and treasure are gained to solve similar ones and speed up the subsequent processes, i.e. storage, picking, packaging and shipping, preventing too much goods from returning to the supplier to be sorted out and many orders being consequently delayed or, worse, cancelled. These situations, which always include an exchange of information between the client and the department, are training stages that increase the knowledge and sharpen the senses, season after season.
Not only sight and touch, but also the sense of smell is called into question, for example as a result of the long stay of the products stored in damp warehouses, transport by ship with sudden changes in temperature or the use of solvents and protective substances that in the long run deteriorate the materials; in these cases the product must be evaluated and sometimes discarded because it is not pleasing to the customer.
Some certainties are subjective, it is true, but without a stop in the quality department, they would remain hidden and free, traveling the world, creating dissatisfaction and loss of trust in loyal customers who always expect to open the package and find the excellence paid.
